To rent by the night in Tarragona you must be listed in the Registre de Turisme de Catalunya. It is governed by Llei 13/2002 de turisme y Decret 75/2020, con el Decret llei 3/2023 (DOGC de 8 de noviembre de 2023).
- 🔴 Aquí el trámite NO empieza en la Generalitat: se presenta ante el AYUNTAMIENTO donde está la vivienda, y desde ahí se inscribe en el Registre de Turisme de Catalunya.
- No se puede alquilar por habitaciones: la cesión es de la vivienda entera.
- 🔴 La normativa se ha ido superponiendo —Decret llei 3/2023 añadió condiciones urbanísticas y varios municipios exigen licencia previa—, así que lo que valga en tu municipio puede no valer en el de al lado. Pregunta en tu ayuntamiento antes que en ningún otro sitio.

And what you are no longer asked for
Until May 2026 there was also a single national registry, with codes starting with ESFC. Spain's Supreme Court annulled that procedure (judgment 620/2026 of 19 May), because the power belongs to each autonomous region. If you have an ESFC number, keep it — it still identifies your home — but the registry that binds you today is Catalunya's.

How much does it cost to list my Tarragona place?
Nothing. No monthly fee and no lock-in. Commission is only charged when a booking comes in: 15% on the Free plan and 10% on Pro, on the total the traveller pays. And the money goes straight to your own Stripe account, it never passes through ours.
Do I need the registration number to list?
Yes. Regulation (EU) 2024/1028 requires short-term rental platforms to show the number and verify it, so without it we cannot publish your place. That duty is ours, not yours — but we cannot meet it without your number.
I have a number starting with ESFC. Does it still work?
Keep it, because it still identifies your home, but it is not the one that binds you today. It came from the single national registry, whose procedure Spain's Supreme Court annulled in May 2026 because the power belongs to each autonomous region. The one that counts is Catalunya's.
Do I have to take my listing off Airbnb or Booking?
No, and we don't recommend it. There is no exclusivity. You can have your place on both: the calendars sync, so you don't risk a double booking.
What if my town hall also asks me for a licence?
Then you still need it. Catalunya's registry and municipal permits are different things, and one does not replace the other. Check with your town hall before you start.
